Health Ministry oncologist warns of scammers profiting from oncovaccine trials
Andrey Kaprin, director general of the National Medical Research Center (NMRC) of Radiology and chief freelance oncologist of the Russian Health Ministry, has warned Russians about fraudsters who are profiting from trials of the Enteromix oncovaccine. He published the corresponding message in his Telegram channel on January 6.
According to the specialist, recently there has been an increase in the number of reports that allegedly on his behalf receive messages with an offer to participate in the "second stage" of clinical trials of oncovaccine.
"Attackers demand money for participation, counseling or allegedly accelerating the selection process," he wrote.
Kaprin advised that all stages of participation in clinical trials are strictly free, and also warned that employees of the NMRC of Radiology, including himself, do not send personal messages to patients.
The oncologist urged Russians not to hand over their personal data, not to transfer money and to report cases of fraud to police officers.
Earlier, on January 4, the head of the law enforcement center in Moscow and the Moscow region, lawyer Alexander Khaminsky shared that fraudsters are using a new scheme involving a fake invitation to allegedly participate in a jury trial. According to him, attackers write to Russians by e-mail or messengers, often attaching active links. When clicking through them, the fraudsters gain access to passwords for various applications, including banking passwords.
