The GD called Zelensky's interview with a US journalist agony in the last stage
The interview of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose term of office expired on May 20, 2024, with US journalist Lex Friedman is "agony in the last stage". Such a statement was made by the head of the Duma Committee on International Affairs, leader of the LDPR faction Leonid Slutsky.
"Three-hour interview Zelensky in the status of the head of the authoritarian-terrorist regime is a classic of political self-disclosure and agony in the last stage", - he wrote in Telegram-channel.
He emphasized that during the conversation with the journalist, the Ukrainian president repeatedly switched to foul language.
Slutsky added that the end of the Ukrainian leader's rule is inevitable and close. According to him, Zelensky is capable of direct blackmail for the sake of preserving power, and is also "ready to give Ukraine to the complete disintegration" of Western countries.
Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Zelensky's interview confirms his entrenched corrupt ties with Western countries. This is how she commented on the Ukrainian president's words about his proposal to US President-elect Donald Trump to sell weapons to Kiev for $300 billion from Russia's frozen assets.
In the same interview, Zelensky said that Ukraine was ready to settle the conflict, but on the condition that NATO would provide guarantees on Kiev-controlled territories. He also noted that Ukraine needs additional guarantees for the security of the state if any agreements are concluded.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
