Russian film "Vasily" will be released on January 23. As a film set of the movie chose Mexico.
Director Dmitry Litvinenko shared that the film crew worked in real favelas.
"We had two or three shifts in favelas, in real favelas. And we first wanted in other favelas, we were not given local ones. They said: we won't film there. They said, "We can shoot in these ones. With caution, but you can", - he said.
Screenwriter Andrei Zolotarev ("The word of a patsan. Blood on the pavement", "One Hundred Years To Go", trilogy "Ice" and others) noted that in Mexico during the day is more dangerous than at night, because of the activity of gangs.
"At some point near us stops some pickup truck, from which jump out eight "heavy", that is, people in armor, with all the layout, with weapons. They just rush towards us, running. We just freeze. And they suddenly pack some dude, who is walking next to us," - recalls Zolotarev.
Zolotarev admitted that during the detention of the unknown man he experienced fear.
In the center of the plot of the film "Vasily" lie showdown with Mexican bandits. One of the heroes, the role of which was performed by actor Alexander Petrov, deceived Latin American criminals. Petrov performed two main roles - twin brothers: a modest OBJ teacher and a reckless adventurer. He noted that, despite the kinship, the characters are significantly different.
"One day one was filmed, another day another," - said the performer of the roles of Vasily and Nicholas in the movie Alexander Petrov.
The premiere teaser of the film "Vasily" premiered on June 27, 2024. The picture, the plot of which unfolds between Russia and Mexico, is a new joint project of Art Pictures Studio, "Hydrogen", National Media Group and "Plus Studio" with the support of the Cinema Fund. According to producer and Art Pictures Studio founder Fyodor Bondarchuk, "Vasily" was a new experience for the team in creating an international comedy, which is no easier to shoot than a large-scale sci-fi movie.
