The Social Fund reported an increase in maternity benefits
In 2025, the maternity allowance, depending on a woman's salary, may exceed the amount of Br1 million. This was reported in the press service of the Social Fund of Russia on January 5.
"This year the amount of maternity benefit has increased. The payment is calculated from the average earnings for the two years that preceded the year of the beginning of maternity leave," - stated in the message in the Telegram-channel.
The agency recalled that this year the size of the minimum wage in Russia increased to 22 440 rubles, so the minimum amount of benefits for 140 days will be the amount of 103 285 rubles, the maximum - 794 355 rubles. Accordingly, the minimum for 156 days is equal to 115,089 rubles, the maximum - 885,139 rubles. Also for 194 days, a woman can receive a minimum of 143,123 rubles, the maximum - 1,100,750 rubles.
"The exact size of the payment depends on the woman's salary," - specified in the Social Fund.
On October 14, 2024, the Russian Ministry of Labor reported an increase in maternity capital by 46 thousand rubles for the birth of the firstborn and 61 thousand for the second child. Thus, the amount of capital will amount to 677 thousand rubles for one child and 894 thousand for two.
Later, October 17 last year, it became known that the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education, Yana Lantratova, addressed to the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov with a request to issue payments in the amount of minimum wage to pregnant students. According to her, this support measure will help women studying at university who are preparing to become mothers.
