The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have attacked the training center of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZNPP) with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). This was reported in the press service of ZNPP on January 5.
"The flight of the drone of the AFU came on the roof of the building "G" of the training center of the training center of Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, where the world's only full-scale simulator of the reactor hall is located", - stated in the message published in the Telegram-channel.

Earlier, on December 29, 2024, the first deputy head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kiriyenko, urged to prepare for the fastest possible launch of the six units of ZNPP. He added that the main tasks for 2025 are to ensure NPP safety, as well as to prepare the units for generation mode. On January 4 of this year, Director General of Rosatom Alexei Likhachev said that the situation at ZNPP is under full control in terms of nuclear technology.
Before that, on December 5, the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said that the situation around ZNPP continues to be tense and unstable as long as hostilities are taking place near the facility.
Zaporizhzhya region, where the nuclear power plant is located, became part of the Russian Federation following a referendum in September 2022. Since that time, Zaporizhzhya NPP has been under constant IAEA control.
