In Karelia, seven people were injured in a road accident with a tourist bus
A tourist bus overturned into a ditch on a highway in Karelia, according to preliminary data, at least seven people were injured in the accident. As noted January 5 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic, the accident occurred near the village of Lyaskelya on the 301th km of the highway A-121 "Sortavala".
The police said that the driver of the Yutong bus, heading on the route Kondopoga - Ruskeala, failed to manage the control on the turn, after which the vehicle went into the ditch and overturned.
"The number of injured has increased to seven people. At the site are now working employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Karelia, police and medics. Information is being clarified," - indicated in the Telegram-channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic.
According to the source of "Izvestia", 43 people were in the cabin of the bus, including four children. Four of the injured are in serious condition, he pointed out. The region's health minister Mikhail Okhlopkov noted that the injured were evacuated to Sortavala hospital and Pitkyaranta central district hospital (CDH).
"There were two drivers in the bus, as well as 42 passengers, including four children. It is known that four children born in 2016 and 2017 suffered in the accident," - cited in the Telegram-channel of the police of Karelia.
The day before, January 4, in Perm, five adults and one child were injured in an accident with two buses. According to the regional Emergency Situations Department, the accident occurred on Lenin Street near the stop "Popova". Eight specialists and two units of equipment were involved in the elimination of the accident.
On the same day on the highway M-5 "Ural" on the approach to Orenburg there was an accident involving two cars. Five people died as a result of the accident.
