In the Irkutsk region, a car fatally struck a girl who rolled down on an ice-skate on the road

In the Irkutsk region, a car fatally hit a seven-year-old girl who had gone off on an ice-skate on the highway. This was reported by the prosecutor's office of the region on January 5.

A criminal case under part 1 of article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence") was initiated.

According to preliminary data, on December 29, 2024 the girl drove off on an ice-cart from a spontaneous slide in the village of Urik. The child went into the road, as a result of which she was hit by the driver of a foreign car.

"With multiple injuries the victim was taken to the children's hospital in Irkutsk, from which the girl's death occurred on 02.01.2025. The causes and conditions of the incident are being established," reads the message published in the Telegram-channel of the supervisory agency.

The Prosecutor's office is conducting an inspection and monitors the progress of the investigation of the criminal case.
