Ovechkin moved up to 12th place in the NHL's top scorers list
Russian hockey player and Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin has moved up to 12th place in the list of top scorers in the National Hockey League (NHL). The corresponding information follows from the statistics published on the official website of the NHL.
This was due to the fact that the Russian striker on the same day scored the puck in the match against the New York Rangers, which ended with a score of 7:4 in favor of Washington.
Earlier in the day it was reported that Ovechkin scored a puck in the regular season NHL match against the New York Rangers, thus reducing the gap to Wayne Gretzky to 22 goals.
Prior to that, on January 3, Ovechkin scored his 871st puck in a game against the Minnesota Wild and cut the gap to Wayne Gretzky to 23 goals. However, this puck did not help "Washington" to win. The hockey player did not realize his shootout, and the club suffered a defeat with a score of 3:4.
