A child has been killed and his parents injured after a drone attack on a vehicle of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Zaporizhzhya region. This was reported by the head of the region, Yevhen Balitskyy, on January 4.

The tragedy occurred on the highway of Vasilievsky municipal district.

"Kiev terrorists deliberately directed a UAV at a civilian car. A family was traveling in the car - parents and a child. A man and a woman were injured of varying degrees of severity, their 10-year-old son died of his wounds in the ambulance," Balitsky wrote in his Telegram channel.

The head of the region expressed condolences to the child's family and noted that the relatives will be given all possible assistance.

"For the life and health of the parents of the boy are fighting doctors," he concluded.

Last December, the city of Melitopol in the Zaporizhzhya region was attacked by six Ukrainian drones, five of them were shot down on the approach to the city, the detonation occurred at a distance from the residential sector. At the time, Balitsky noted that there were no casualties.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
