Gorlovka residents told about the victims after the shelling of the VFU
On January 4, residents of Horlivka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) told Izvestiya about the consequences of the shelling of a residential area in the Nikitovskyy district by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Earlier in the day, Gorlovka mayor Ivan Prikhodko reported the shelling of the Komsomolets residential area by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as a result of which 10 civilians were wounded. He also specified that "bell-type" submunitions were found at the site of shelling.
The footage shows damaged building facades, broken glass and stone blocks on the ground.
According to locals, the shelling started when people were at their workplaces.
"Cassettes fell under the store, people were injured, ran in here, there was a lot of blood. Helped and gave first aid to people," said an employee of one of the stores.
She specified that there were six people in the store, all with injuries of varying degrees of severity: one woman had a severe wound to the neck, three others had shrapnel wounds to the arms and legs - they were called an ambulance. Another man also had shrapnel wounds, but he did not wait for the medics to arrive and left on his own.
An employee of another store said that Ukrainian drones fly every day and that people walk home from work "by running over".
On the eve, the head of the DNR Denis Pushilin reported that two people were injured in Gorlovka during the day after the attacks of Ukrainian militants. In addition, 11 houses were damaged, as well as the House of Culture in the Nikitovsky district.
