In the Moscow region, a gang of car thieves stole foreign cars worth 43 million rubles

Metropolitan police detained a gang, which was engaged in car theft. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk on January 4.

The attackers were engaged in the theft of cars of Korean and Japanese production. It is specified that the damage from the actions of the attackers amounted to about 43 million rubles.

"Men were looking for foreign cars, opened them and stole them for the purpose of further sale. GPS signal suppression devices were used to disable security alarms," - noted Volk in Telegram-channel.

All detainees have convictions for property crimes. During the detention, the police found the criminals had cars, fake state registration plates and electronic devices.

A criminal case under the article "Theft" was initiated, which was merged into a single proceeding. A measure of restraint in the form of arrest has been chosen for the detainees. The police are searching for stolen cars.

Earlier, December 9, it became known that the man who stole a Mercedes Maybach from the underground parking lot of one of the towers of "Moscow City" was taken into custody. The hijacker turned out to be a 32-year-old resident of the Perm region, he had already been tried. The man was charged under part 3 of article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Theft causing especially large material damage").
