- Defense Ministry reported the destruction of 10 Ukrainian UAVs over four Russian regions
The air defense forces of the Russian army have destroyed 10 drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the Leningrad, Pskov, Kursk and Voronezh regions. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 4.
"On January 4, between 08:20 and 11:30 Moscow time, on-duty air defense means destroyed 10 Ukrainian drones: three over the territory of the Leningrad region, one over the territory of the Pskov region, one over the territory of the Kursk region and five over the territory of the Voronezh region," the report said.
Also, the governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, said that several AFU drones hit sections of residential houses in the city's Levoberezhny district, resulting in broken windows.
Gusev added that there was no information about casualties.
On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian air defense forces destroyed 16 Ukrainian drones over five Russian regions during the night. 10 of them were shot down over the Bryansk region, three over the Smolensk region, and one drone each was destroyed over the Belgorod, Pskov and Leningrad regions.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
