In St. Petersburg, a man refused to pay for a cab ride and opened fire. This was reported by the source of "Izvestiya" on January 3.

The incident itself took place on the night of January 2 on Slava Avenue.

According to the source, the cab driver took a passenger to the specified address, but he refused to pay, got out of the car and fired a gun at the driver.

The cab driver drove away and went to the police.

Later, law enforcement officers detained the suspect. He turned out to be a 54-year-old unemployed man. A traumatic pistol "Osa" was seized from him, for which he had a permit.

A criminal case was opened under part 1 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism").

The man was placed in an investigative isolator.

The day before in St. Petersburg, a 17-year-old teenager was charged with the murder of his father. According to investigators, on the night of January 1, the teenager, being at home in a state of alcoholic intoxication, in the course of a conflict stabbed his father in the chest. The man died on the spot. During interrogation, the teenager fully admitted his guilt, he faces up to 15 years of imprisonment with restriction of freedom for up to two years.
