A civilian was injured in the shelling of Horlivka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by the mayor of the city Ivan Prikhodko on January 3.

"As a result of shelling of the residential area "Komsomolets" from the side of the Ukrainian Nazis injured a civilian Gorlovchanyan," - stated in the message of the mayor in his Telegram-channel.

Prikhodko added that after the shelling in the settlement of Pobeda recorded damage to a number of houses and communications.

Earlier in the day, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that a civilian was injured in the village of Yasniye Zori as a result of shelling by Ukrainian forces. He, according to the governor, was taken by ambulance to Belgorod City Hospital No. 2 in serious condition with a mine blast injury and a leg wound.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
