Four missiles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been shot down in the skies over Kursk Region. This was reported on January 2 by the operative staff of the region.

"Four Ukrainian missiles were shot down today at different times in the skies of the Kursk region. Thanks to the air defense fighters," - said in a message published in the Telegram-channel.

Earlier in the day, Alexander Khinshtein, the interim governor of the Kursk region, said that Ukrainian militants launched a missile strike on the village of Ivanovskoye in the Rylsky district of the Kursk region. One person was injuredas a result of the aggression. The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case under the article on a terrorist attack.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
