The Governor of Voronezh Region reported the destruction of UAVs over the region
Russian air defense forces and electronic warfare (EW) have eliminated a drone over Voronezh. This was reported by the governor of the Voronezh region Alexander Gusev on January 2.
"On-duty air defense forces and means of REB over Voronezh detected and destroyed another UAV," he wrote in Telegram-channel.
Gusev specified that according to preliminary data, there were no casualties or damage.
Earlier in the day, the destruction of the UAV of the airplane type was reported by the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz. According to him, there are no casualties and destruction as a result of the attack in the region.
Before that, on January 1, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense forces had eliminated 14 Ukrainian UAVs over five regions of the Russian Federation. It is specified that two drones were destroyed over the Belgorod region, four - over the Voronezh region, five - over the Rostov region, two - over the Tula region and one - over the Orel region.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
