An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 has been recorded in Kamchatka. The corresponding information was published on the website of the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center "Unified Geophysical Survey of the Russian Academy of Sciences" on January 1.

It is noted that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred at a depth of 17 km. The source of the seismic event was located 160 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Earlier, on December 21, it was reported that the earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 was recorded on the border of the Republic of Tyva. It was noted that the residents during the seismic event felt slight fluctuations, the special services received informational calls from the local population.
