Five civilians injured in DNR by AFU shelling
Five people have been injured in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) as a result of an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by the head of the region Denis Pushilin on January 1.
"Everyone is provided with qualified medical assistance," he informed in his Telegram.
In the locality of Panteleymonovka due to the use of rocket artillery by the AFU, two women and one man were injured of medium severity. The identity of another victim is being established.
In Gorlovka, a radio-telephone operator of the Russian Emergencies Ministry was injured as a result of shelling of a fire station.
Pushilin added that a house, a school, two cars and a fire and rescue unit were damaged during the attack by the Ukrainian military on Gorlovka. In Panteleymonovka, two apartment buildings were damaged.
According to the DNR head, the AFU used rocket artillery and 155 mm caliber barrel artillery, including cluster-type artillery, during the attacks.
Earlier in the day, Gorlovka mayor Ivan Prikhodko said that Ukrainian militants struck the city center at night. He noted that the arrival of an AFU shell was recorded on the roadway on Ostapenko Street.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
