Alexander Khinshtein, the Kursk region's acting governor, said that according to preliminary data, six people were killed, including a child. Another 10 victims, including a 13-year-old child, were taken to hospital.
Later, the Investigative Committee reported that a criminal case under the article "terrorist act" (paragraph "b" part 3, article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) had been opened over the tragedy.
Hinshtein said that all operational services are working at the site of the strike, Prime Minister Alexei Dedov and his deputies have left for the city. Hinshtein himself will go to Rylsk from Moscow after the meeting of the State Council.
