The New Year is just days away. Many people are planning to spend New Year's Eve outdoors - setting off fireworks, ice skating and enjoying a festive concert. In 2025, the weather for winter entertainment will be more suitable than ever. The beginning of January in Moscow, St. Petersburg and many other regions of Central Russia will be warm and snowy. Since the beginning of December, forecasters begin to predict what weather will come on the territory of Russia on New Year's Eve. However, the maximum period of reliable forecast should not exceed 7-10 days, otherwise the actual weather may not coincide with expectations. According to Tatyana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist of the information agency Meteonovosti, a snowstorm is expected on New Year's Eve in the capital and the Moscow region, the air temperature will not fall below -10 degrees Celsius, and the atmospheric pressure will be 744 mm of mercury column.

- As for the New Year's Eve night, some models say that we will be in the rear of the cyclone, which will cover everything with snow, and the air temperature will drop from -5 to -10 degrees. We can say now that we will not be without snow on New Year's Eve," said the weather forecaster.

According to the portal Gismeteo, in the afternoon on December 31 in Moscow the air temperature will be -3 degrees, a heavy snowfall is predicted, which will last until the morning of January 1. Leading expert of the weather center "Phobos" Mikhail Leus noted that the probability of precipitation in the capital is estimated at 60-65%. Stable snow cover and temperatures from -1 to -8 are expected on New Year's Eve and in the Moscow region.

The main winter holiday will present the inhabitants of the Northern Capital and the Leningrad Region with warm weather. According to the forecast of "Yandex Weather", in the daytime hours of December 31 in St. Petersburg is expected from -1 to -5 degrees Celsius, in the Leningrad region it may get colder to -7. In the Northern Capital, the weather is expected to be mostly cloudy, with no more than two clear days for the whole month.

In Belgorod, Novgorod, Tula, Ivanovo and Vladimir regions the daytime temperature in the first month of 2025 will remain at -7...-10 degrees Celsius. At night, the thermometer columns will drop to a maximum of -17 degrees, but on average in these regions will be about 10 degrees below zero. A similar situation with the weather will be in Yaroslavl, Vologda, Kaluga and Ryazan regions. During the day there is expected from -8 to -11 degrees, and in the night hours - up to 20 degrees of frost.

Relatively mild midwinter will be in the Southern Federal District. In LNR, DNR, Kalmykia, Astrakhan and Volgograd forecasters predict up to -5 degrees Celsius during the day and up to -7 degrees Celsius at night. In January there will be the most days with variable cloudiness in the regions. In Krasnodar Krai, Sochi, Sevastopol and Crimea it will be about +5 degrees during the day and up to -7 degrees at night. In Stavropol Krai the daytime temperature will be from -1 to -4, in Dagestan, Ingushetia and Karachay-Cherkess Republic - about +5 degrees.

January will be snowy in almost all parts of the Northwestern Federal District. More than half of the month will be heavy snowfalls. In the Komi Republic, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions it is expected from -8 to -10 degrees during the day and -15 at night. It will be much warmer in Kaliningrad - up to 4 degrees below zero in the daytime and -7 at night.

In the Volga Federal District the January temperature will be within the climatic norm. In the Republic of Tatarstan, Penza, Samara, Kirov and Nizhny Novgorod regions it will be -9...-14 degrees Celsius during the daytime and -17 degrees Celsius at night. In the Orenburg region, Perm Krai and Bashkortostan forecasters predict -15 in the daytime hours and over -20 degrees at night.

January temperatures will decrease as we move towards the eastern part of the country. In Yekaterinburg, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk in early 2025 it is expected to reach 20 degrees below zero during the day and about -25 degrees at night. In Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug January will be frosty, it is predicted to -23 degrees during the day and -30 degrees at night.

In Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk and Altai Krai the air temperature in January will drop to -17 during the day and -20 at night. In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vladivostok and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk meteorologists predict -8...-10 degrees during the day and about -14 degrees at night. In Magadan, Khabarovsk and Blagoveshchensk, the daytime temperature will stay at -17 degrees Celsius for most of January, but at night it may occasionally drop to -26 degrees Celsius. The residents of Yakutsk will have to dress warmer than others, where the daytime temperature in January will be -30 degrees, and the night temperature may reach -37 degrees of bitter frost.

Impact of weather in January on the meteosensitive people

The beginning of 2025 is characterized by many experts as a difficult and ambiguous period. This is partly due to the large number of flashes of geomagnetic activity, which will be felt by all living beings.
