On Constitution Day, December 12, Vladimir Putin presented state awards to outstanding Russians. In the Catherine Hall of the Kremlin gathered more than 30 guests: prominent representatives of public and religious organizations, statesmen, journalists, teachers and mentors, famous artists and composers, health workers, industry and agriculture. Vladimir Putin, addressing the awardees, first of all congratulated them on one of the most important state holidays - Constitution Day. Right before the ceremony, the head of state held a separate meeting with Valery Zorkin, chairman of the Constitutional Court.
"Adopted by popular vote more than 30 years ago, it largely determined the fate of Russia, its very statehood, formed the basis of the entire legal system of the country, proclaimed and approved the key values of our society and people. And the updated Constitution and fundamental amendments to the Basic Law have also become an expression of the will of millions of our people, clearly outlined the path of development of our Fatherland, our common aspirations and goals, a solidarity response to the challenges of the time, our readiness to defend our priorities, rights and freedoms, traditions and identity: everything we sacredly believe in and stand for," Vladimir Putin said at the award ceremony.
To the sounds of a solemn orchestra, the president awarded the Gold Star of the Hero of Russia - the highest title awarded for services to the state and the people, associated with the performance of a heroic feat - for the first time in the history of modern Russian journalism to military correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny "for courage and heroism shown in the performance of official duty". Since February 2022, he has been producing reports on events in the zone of the special military operation. In August, the military correspondent was wounded during a Ukrainian drone attack in the Kursk region.
"He has more than once been in the epicenter of hot spots - hot in the truest sense of the word, risked himself, received heavy, exactly heavy, injuries. Today he honorably performs his professional duty in the zone of special military operation. He, a true war correspondent, has been awarded the title of Hero of Russia," the president said, thanking all Russian journalists "for their objectivity in assessing what is happening".
After the awarding, Yevgeny Poddubny took the floor. He explained that now the whole country is living in a period of mass heroism and daily example of mass personal courage.
What artists and athletes were honored with state awards
The title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation - the highest degree of distinction for special labor services to the state and the people - on this day was awarded to the leader of the CPRF Gennady Zyuganov. Also this title was awarded to the General Director of PJSC "Rostvertol" Petr Motrenko and State Duma deputy Vladimir Resin, who is jokingly called the chief foreman of Moscow, as his labor biography for almost 60 years is inextricably linked with construction. Under his leadership in the capital were built objects for the Olympics-80, restored the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and reconstructed the Bolshoi Theater. The Star of the Hero of Labor was awarded to Soviet and Russian composer Alexandra Pakhmutova, who celebrated her 95th birthday this year. - Such a title is invaluable. Vladimir Putin is a man who loves his country, loves all of us, and this is very cool. And he celebrates merits. Our task is to help him. We will have to do a lot, but we will all do it with joy," Alexandra Pakhmutova told Izvestia after the awarding.
The Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the first degree was awarded this time to politicians and representatives of public organizations: president of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, head of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions Mikhail Shmakov and head of the United Russia faction Vladimir Vasilyev.
The Order "For Services to the Fatherland" II degree was awarded to the Supreme Mufti of Russia Talgat Tadzhuddin and producer Igor Krutoy. Among other representatives of culture, the Order "For Services to the Fatherland" IV degree was awarded to Nikolai Tsiskaridze, who has been leading the Academy of Russian Ballet named after A.Y. Vaganova for 10 years. Vaganova.

I kept saying this phrase and when I was awarded the first state prize I said that I was Georgian, that I was a Russian citizen, but I was a Russian artist. And a Russian artist means a lot to me," Nikolai Tsiskaridze told Izvestia.
Russian pop and opera singer Nikolai Baskov was awarded the Order of Honor on this day. They were awarded for their significant contribution to the preservation, popularization and development of Russian culture and art. Representatives of sports were also honored. Famous hockey player and coach Boris Mikhailov and Soviet soccer player and coach Valery Gazzaev were awarded the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of II and III degrees respectively.

A considerable list of awardees are doctors. Other Russians who have devoted their lives to working professions also received the award from the hands of the President. The Order of Friendship was awarded to Alexander Markov, a tractor-machine operator of a peasant farm in the Altai region, and Vitaly Legky, a carousel turner from the Tula region. Honorary titles were also conferred: the artist Natalia Golubentseva, who has been animating Stepashka (voicing him and controlling the puppet) for more than 50 years in the children's program "Good Night, Kids!", became the People's Artist of the Russian Federation. All the participants of the ceremony were especially happy to see her, as Golubentseva's voice is recognizable to the majority of the Russian population. She also decided to please the awardees and addressed the ceremony in the famous voice of her character and his famous phrase: "Good night, girls and boys, keep your ears to the ground!". After the award ceremony, Natalia Golubentseva told Izvestia that it was her idea.
- We are united with him. I couldn't just leave him like that, say something, and he is somewhere on the sidelines. We are always together. I could have come with it, but no one gave it to me. But I think that my voice is already enough, Stepashka is with me," said the artist.
Marina Fedyunina, a teacher from Krasnoyarsk, was recognized as the People's Teacher of the Russian Federation - she has been working at her school No. 10 for more than 50 years. Two more teachers - Zarema Kaflanova from Dagestan and Alexander Savintsev from Kirov region - received the title "Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation". They became mentors for Heroes of Russia, participants of the SSO - Senior Lieutenant Temirlan Abutalimov and Captain Vladislav Golovin. Both guys are 27 years old. Vladimir Putin awarded the insignia "For mentoring" to Nadezhda Savinykh, a teacher of a gymnasium in Kuban. The contribution to science and education of Viktor Blazheev, rector of the O.E. Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSLA), was also recognized - he was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
"Education of real professionals is an extremely difficult and painstaking business. And it is not only about acquiring modern knowledge. It is important to raise worthy citizens, to form their moral guidelines, to instill a sense of duty and responsibility for the country. The education system plays a huge role here. I congratulate the representatives of our higher education institutions and universities on state awards. School teachers also have an exceptional influence on the formation of younger generations. Here in the hall are teachers who have brought up Heroes of Russia: fighters, volunteers who earned this high title by defending the Motherland," Vladimir Putin said.
In addition, other honorary titles were awarded. Thus, Olga Aleksandrova, Rector of the All-Russian State University of Justice, became an Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation. Olga Skuratova, a master at hot work sites from Orenburg region, became an honored metallurgist, Natalia Vashchenko, director of the Lugansk center for social rehabilitation of disabled children, became an honored worker of social protection of the Russian Federation.
