Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday, December 10, that it is now difficult to talk about the events in Syria that will follow the "period of uncertainty."

"Now is certainly the time for a deep analysis of the ongoing events, now it is still difficult to predict the final form that will follow this period of uncertainty," he said.

Thus, according to Peskov, the Russian Federation intends to continue the processes of wide-format cooperation with all regional countries.

At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman called Bashar al-Assad 's resignation as Syrian president his personal decision.

After the announcement of his resignation from the post of president, Assad instructed to carry out the transfer of power peacefully. A coalition of revolutionary and opposition forces in Syria said it was working to form a transitional authority. In turn, the Prime Minister of the SAR Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali said that he himself is ready to cooperate with any elected leadership.

Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the termination of the demarcation agreement with Syria, and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) deployed forces along the Syrian border under the pretext of ensuring the security of communities in the Golan Heights and Israeli citizens.

The situation in Syria escalated following a major attack by militias in Aleppo and Idlib that began on November 28 and led to a Syrian army response against the militants.
