Yuri Borisov is a Russian theater and film actor, nominee and winner of domestic and foreign film awards, including the Niki, Golden Eagle, Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) award and others. In 2024, he was nominated for the prestigious international Golden Globe Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for "Anora".

Borisov was born in 1992 in the town of Reutov near Moscow. The parents of the future star had nothing to do with the cinematography. The actor's mother is a realtor by profession, and his father is an electrician and plumber. As the actor himself recalled, his father studied at the Faculty of Medicine, but the diploma of a doctor did not get. He worked at school as a teacher of physical education and labor, and in the harsh 1990s traded in Moscow markets.

As a child, Yuri dreamed of becoming an astronaut, but already at school he became interested in theater. He regularly participated in school theater productions, but he treated acting as an interesting hobby.

When it came time to enter university, his parents did not limit their son in the choice of specialty, but set the condition - exclusively free education. Prepare a young man had time only for exams in the theater and at the first attempt passed on the budget in the Schepkin School in Moscow.

During his studies, Borisov played in student productions. In 2013, he even won the "Golden Leaf" award for the best male role in the play "Zoykina Apartment" based on the play by Mikhail Bulgakov. In the same year, after graduation from the school, Yuri began working in the Moscow theater "Satirikon", where he served until 2014. According to the actor, he left the theater stage, so as not to turn his favorite business into a chore.

In the movie Borisov debuted in 2010 in the series "Everyone has his own war". In 2011, he was invited to a minor role in the picture of Andrei Zvyagintsev "Elena". Subsequently, the actor participated in several more multi-series projects: "Freud's Method", "In the risk zone", "Fireflies", "Immersion", "Farewell, beloved" and others.

In 2015, Borisov performed the main role in the military drama "Road to Berlin", which brought him fame. Subsequently, he repeatedly appeared on movie screens in the images of the military: in the series "Young Guard" he played the head of a partisan organization, and in the film "T-34" - a brave tanker.

Despite the success of military-patriotic paintings with his participation, Borisov did not become hostage to the role of a soldier. So, in the film Daria Zhuk "Crystal" he played the role of an egocentric DJ, in the drama of Boris Akopov "Bull" played the leader of a criminal group, and in the biographical picture of Konstantin Buslov "Kalashnikov" - the legendary inventor and designer. In the filmography of the actor also included popular Russian series: "Epidemic", "Peace! Friendship! Gum!" and "Olga".

The year 2021 became for Borisov one of the most productive. This year, the actor was nominated for the domestic award "Nika" for his role in the Christmas melodrama "Silver Skates", and at the Cannes Film Festival was the screening of two films with his participation: "Petrovs in the flu" and "Coupe No. 6". Marked the artist and at the International Film Festival in Locarno (Switzerland), where the psychological drama "Gerda" was presented, in which he played the role of the artist.

Attracted the attention of viewers and critics, the film "Captain Volkonogov fled", presented at the Venice International Festival in 2021. In it, Borisov played a law enforcement officer who was criminally charged.

The most high-profile work of Borisov in 2024 was the role of Igor the bouncer in the movie "Anora" by American director Sean Baker. For it, the artist was nominated for the prestigious Golden Globe Award as a supporting actor. The film also received nominations in the categories "Best Film (Musical/Comedy)", "Best Screenplay in a Movie".

In the coming year 2025 fans of Borisov are waiting for new films with his participation: biographical tape "Prophet. The story of Alexander Pushkin", in which the actor will play the great poet, as well as paintings "The Lesson" and "Chronicles of the Russian Revolution".

With his wife Anna Shevchuk Borisov met in the first year of the Shchepkin school. As the artist recalled, at first the girl did not take seriously the courtship of a guy two years younger than herself. However, Yuri did not give up: bought her beloved frosted cheese, slipped notes under the door in the dormitory and tried to climb into her room through the window.

In the fourth year of study, the young people still began to meet, and in 2014 they got married. A year later, they had a daughter Marfa, and two years later - her sister Akulina.
