They came in from the back door: details of the raid on the capital's gay clubs

Law enforcers have begun systematic work to identify and suppress the activities of communities associated with the LGBT movement banned in Russia. As part of one of the first investigations, the head of a "tour club for men" who promoted same-sex relationships on social networks and on his website was detained. Also the Moscow police conducted raids on nightclubs, where facts of drug use and prostitution were revealed. Details - in the material "Izvestia".
Club of interest
A series of raids took place in popular clubs in the capital last week. According to the police, several establishments systematically organized parties for supporters of the LGBT movement (banned in Russia as extremist). The law enforcers visited four establishments - Arma (formerly the scandalous Mutabor), Inferno Night, Mono and Simach. The operatives had information that these establishments "formed a false idea about the institution of marriage in an undefined circle of people" and "undermined traditional family values". The propaganda consisted of specific erotic performances, dance shows, and the provision of separate rooms for intimacy. The police also seized numerous bags of drugs, in particular mephedrone. Criminal cases on this fact will be initiated and allocated in a separate proceeding, said the source of "Izvestia". Earlier in the press service of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow, the event to detect illegal activities in the club on Skladochnaya Street was conducted by officers of the capital police and the FSSB. According to operational information, the institution was propagandizing the ideology of the LGBT movement banned in Russia.
The director of the club Inferno Night Sergey Tsarev told "Izvestia" at the scene that different people come to the institution, not only representatives of sexual minorities. Still, he admitted that there are problem guests.
- When trans people tried to come here, we kicked them out and even called the police, because they got into a fight (...) We called the security service, "Rainbow" is called. It's all on camera. We don't let trans people in. Different people come here. There have been LGBT people here.
Visitors to another establishment reported that in addition to LGBT music, negative statements about the SVO and Russian servicemen are systematically heard from the stage.
According to Izvestiya's source in the anti-drug police unit, synthetic psychoactive substances become a constant companion of LGBT adherents.
- These illegal substances have a devastating effect on the human psyche and promote immoral behavior when intoxicated. Evidence of drug-addicted LGBT orgies end up in the phones of addicts," the policeman noted.
Tours for men without complexes
Around the same time, officers of the FSSB in Moscow and Moscow region together with colleagues from the Center for Counteraction to Extremism of the Moscow Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained businessman Andrei Kotov on suspicion of organizing an extremist community and involving others in it (part 1 and 2 of article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Kotov's company organized group "men's trips" to various destinations, including abroad. Golovinsky court, having studied the submitted materials, decided to arrest Kotov.
For single travelers, the company picked up fellow travelers and put the men in the same room. "How many times have we put fellow travelers in rooms, and it was always fun and interesting and there were no difficulties," reads one of the advertising posts on the travel agency's channel.
The concept, which was developed by the main figure in the investigation, is addressed to men of non-traditional sexual orientation. "Have a good vacation in the company of like-minded people" - a slogan that goes from post to post on the resources associated with the travel agency Kotov. Trips are addressed exclusively to male couples and singles who are looking for company of certain views. The abbreviation LGBT does not appear on the company's website, but the hyperlink from there leads to the "necessary" reviews, where everything is said without secrecy. "If you are looking for a well-organized LGBT group trip, we highly recommend Men together. Victor and Dima from Arkhangelsk", - stated in the message about a vacation in Sri Lanka. It should be noted that earlier the project was called Men together and Gays together.
For what will be tried "new" extremists
Judicial practice in cases of organizing the activities of an extremist organization (article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) is still insufficient, the experience is only being formed. According to lawyer Alexei Gavrishev, much will depend on the objective side of the crime.
- The objective side of a crime is its external manifestation, the realization of a criminal act," says the Izvestia interlocutor. - The objective side includes the act, its consequences, the causal link between the act and the consequences, as well as the method, instruments (means), time, place and environment of the crime. However, some crimes are considered committed even in the absence of socially dangerous consequences (the so-called formal corpus delicti), and it is not necessary to prove the occurrence of consequences. Such formal corpus delicti include the act provided for by Article 282.2 "Organization of activities of an extremist organization".
The Plenum of the Supreme Court clarified back in 2011 that the organization of activities of organizations, in respect of which the court has made a decision on liquidation or prohibition of activities in connection with extremist activities, should be understood as "actions of organizational nature aimed at continuation or resumption of illegal activities of the prohibited organization".
- For example, convening meetings, organizing recruitment of new members, marches, use of bank accounts. In this case, registration of such an organization as a legal entity is far from mandatory," said the lawyer.
He pointed out that the list of evidence establishing the above facts is not exhaustive.
- It can be witness testimony, evidence of money transfers, and screenshots of correspondence or discussions on the forum or chat room of such a club.
