Ministry of Health wants to change the order of formation of sick leave from September 2025

The Russian Ministry of Health plans to change the design of sick leave certificates from September 1, 2025. A draft order has been published on the website of draft regulatory legal acts.

Thus, from September 1 next year in Russia for citizens who have received sick leave for incapacity for work four or more times within six months, there will be a restriction: a sick leave will be issued for a maximum of three days, and extension is possible only by decision of the medical commission.

It is specified that an attending physician can issue a sick leave for 15 days, while a dentist and a paramedic - no more than 10 days.

At the moment, public discussion of the project is at the final stage. The project itself is designed to improve health care for working citizens.

Earlier, December 6, the head of the faction "Fair Russia - For Truth" Sergei Mironov proposed to introduce indexation of sick leave. The deputy asks in order to respect the rights of citizens to health care and social protection to consider the possibility of making changes to the procedure for calculating and paying compensation for sick leave.
