Russians are going to vacation in Thailand and Egypt, as well as in Turkey and Krasnodar Krai next summer, according to data from aggregator services. Tours for spring-summer 2025 are booked more actively than for the same period of 2024. The number of early bookings for Asian destinations is growing - Russian tourists are going to Vietnam, China and Japan. Within the country, the two capitals and the Krasnodar Territory remain popular, and there is also interest in Kazan, Baikal and Prielbrusy. More often than not, tourists seek to secure places in popular or unusual hotels, experts say.

Where Russians will vacation in 2025

According to the service "Sletat.ru", the volume of tour bookings for the beginning of spring - end of summer 2025 in 1.7 times exceeded the indicators that were in the same date range a year earlier.

The most popular destinations are Thailand, Egypt, Turkey and vacation within Russia. The UAE, Abkhazia, China, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Cuba are also in demand. A year earlier in the top instead of China and Vietnam were Malaysia and Maldives. Mostly Russians book a vacation for nine nights.

On the site of the service "Ostrovok" Russians booked vacation options for spring and summer 2025 by 20% more actively than for the same period this year. For foreign destinations, the number of bookings there increased by 73%.

- Among foreign destinations Japan stands out significantly, where the number of early bookings for the upcoming spring and summer season exceeds last year's figures five times, Abkhazia - almost four times, Georgia and Thailand - twice, - said the company.

Among the popular destinations analysts also named Belarus, Turkey, Thailand, Italy, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Armenia. The average cost of a booked night in foreign destinations is 7.5 thousand rubles, which is 3% lower than a year earlier.

According to MTS Travel data, the United Arab Emirates became the leading country in early demand among non-CIS countries - almost one third of all bookings. The reason is that the tourist season lasts in this country until May. Thailand and Turkey account for 10% of early hotel bookings in far abroad.

At the same time, the average check for early booking of tours to the UAE decreased by 48.1% over the year, amounting to 250 thousand rubles, indicated in "Sletat.ru". And the average check for tours to Thailand, Egypt, Turkey increased by 6-22%.

Where to go in Russia

Inside the country tourists are most interested in Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kaliningrad region and Prielbrusye in spring-summer, said in "Sletat.ru". Excursion tours without a flight are also actively booked in Baikal.

According to Ozon Travel, the top three most popular travel destinations for spring and summer 2025 are traditionally St. Petersburg, Sochi and Moscow. Russians also plan to visit Anapa, Esto-Sadok and Kazan.

The number of reservations of tourist accommodation for the spring and summer period of next year has increased by 16%, follows from the data of the travel service "MTS Travel".

- At the same time in some regions the growth of demand is even higher. Thus, in St. Petersburg for spring-summer 2025 made 80% more reservations of accommodation facilities than a year earlier, in Moscow - by 40% more, and in Sochi - by 24% more, - emphasized there. - Of course, we are still talking about the most forward-thinking tourists who are in a hurry to book popular hotels and do it at the most favorable prices.

For the spring of 2025, accommodation is more actively booked in the Krasnodar region, Kazan, St. Petersburg, as well as in Moscow and the Perm region, added in the service from 2GIS "Othello". A night in hotels in Kazan will cost the cheapest - Br4.9 thousand. And the most expensive - in Krasnodar region, where the average check per night is almost Br10 thousand. In general, the average cost of a booked night in Russian domestic destinations for spring-summer 2025 is 5.3 thousand rubles, which is 15% higher than in the same period last year, calculated in "Ostrovka".

Earliest Russians begin to prepare for a vacation in Gelendzhik - to book hotels for the spring-summer of next year there begin on average 258 days in advance, calculated in "Yandex Travel". Lodging in Sochi is chosen on average 225 days in advance, in St. Petersburg - 233 days, and in Kazan - 208 days.

Why choose early booking

Buying tours or booking hotels in advance, tourists seek to avoid currency fluctuations, explained "Izvestia" vice-president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Artur Muradyan.

- The second reason is the desire to book a favorite and necessary accommodation facility, which later may be in short supply or revise prices upwards," he explained.

More often than not, tourists plan their trips in advance to hotels and places of rather high price category, Yandex Travel added.

- We are talking about affluent users who are willing to pay earlier and perhaps a little more than the usual price for access to a limited number of places or services in unique hotels or high price category, - explained in the service. - These guests are paying for certainty in their plans, for the desire to get a vacation at a specific hotel or a specific location where there may be only one hotel or a small country house.

The desire to save money also becomes the reason for early bookings, says Artur Muradyan.

- People expect that it is guaranteed to be cheaper than a tour bought a month before departure. Although there was a period when we observed the opposite tendency: tours bought by early booking remained more expensive than those bought closer to departure," he said.

At the same time, not all hotels have not yet set rates for the spring-summer season, and airlines can change their flight plan for the summer and adjust the schedule, recalled in "Yandex Travel".
