Russian Armed Forces helicopters strike at AFU armored vehicles in the Kursk border area

In Kursk Region, Mi-28NM, Ka-52M helicopters escorted by Mi-8PSGs of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) launched a missile strike on armored, automotive equipment and personnel of Ukrainian militants. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 19.

It is specified that the strike was carried out while performing tasks to support the ground group of troops in the border area of the Kursk region.

"According to the coordinates of the forward gunner, the crews launched a missile strike on armored, automotive equipment and personnel of the AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine. - Ed.) hidden in a wooded area. According to the intelligence report, the personnel and military equipment of the AFU were destroyed," the defense ministry said.

Earlier in the day, FPV drones of the Russian Defense Ministry's Rubicon test center for advanced unmanned technologies hit AFU armored vehicles in the Kursk region. The footage shows how the drones detected the object and then destroyed it. After the strike, clouds of smoke were observed in the air.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
