Maldives in 2024 may set another historical record for the number of travelers from Russia. This was reported by the press service of the Association of Tour Operators of the Russian Federation (ATOR) on Monday, September 23.

The association noted that, according to official Maldivian statistics, 56.5 thousand tourists from the Russian Federation came to the Maldives this summer, which is 12.3% more than in the summer of 2023.

"At the end of eight months of this year, 146,693 tourists from the Russian Federation visited the Maldives. This is 1.5% more than a year earlier, and the increase is exactly summer and tends to increase the rate. For example, in August the number of Russian arrivals to the Maldives reached 20,407, that is already plus 16.4% year-on-year. If the positive dynamics continues further, Maldives can and put another historical record for the Russian tourist flow or in any case will improve the result of last year", - quotes the message of the agency of city news "Moscow".

In ATOR added that over the summer tourist traffic to Seychelles decreased by 44%, Mauritius increased by 36.6%, Sri Lanka fell by 46%.

Earlier, on September 12, analysts of the service of buying air tickets "Aviaceils" said that Russian tourists began to fly more often to the east of Russia, the most popular in this direction became Kemerovo, Yakutsk and Nizhnevartovsk.

Kemerovo became the leader in terms of increase in the share of bookings - 59%, and the number of direct flights to this destination increased by 42%. On average, tourists spend a week in the city. Also, the share of air ticket bookings to Yakutsk increased by 47% and to Nizhnevartovsk by 27%. The average duration of a trip to Yakutsk is a week, to Nizhnevartovsk - five days.

August 20, Chairman of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov said that the flow of travelers in the republic in the summer of 2024 increased by 20%, reports 360.ru.
