The UAE provided mediation efforts for the return of Russian prisoners from Ukraine
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) provided mediation assistance in the return of the Russian military from Ukrainian captivity. This was announced on October 23 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"Upon the return of Russian servicemen from captivity, humanitarian mediation efforts were provided by the United Arab Emirates," TASS quoted the agency as saying.
On October 23, the ministry reported that Russia had returned 270 of its military from Ukrainian captivity, and another 270 prisoners of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had returned home, thus an exchange was carried out according to the 270x270 formula.
Russian military personnel are currently on the territory of Belarus, and the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Yana Lantratova, is working with them. After they receive the necessary psychological and medical assistance, the military will be taken to the Russian Federation for further treatment in medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense.
Lantratova said on September 20 that the search for Russian fighters in the so-called "shadow captivity" in Ukraine continues. Their names are known, the information is being transmitted to the Ukrainian side, and the Russian side is seeking verification of each case.
