The Internet resources of the German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party were subjected to a powerful cyberattack, as a result of which more than 400 thousand emails of politicians were leaked to the network. This was reported by the German newspaper Bild on October 20.

"Large-scale data theft in the Alternative for Germany party! Unknown hackers broke into the party's mailboxes and posted the correspondence online. <...> It is reported that the total number of [compromised] emails is 421,179," the publication says.

It is clarified that among the published materials there is a photo of the identity card of the deputy chairman of the AFD faction in the Bundestag, Markus Fronmaier, as well as other documents: accounts, bank statements, certificates, applications for membership in the party and lists of members of regional branches in North Rhine-Westphalia.

On October 11, Microsoft founder Bill Gates warned of an increase in the number of cyber attacks using artificial intelligence (AI) next year. According to him, the real danger now is not that AI will get out of control, but that it will fall into the hands of "bad people."
