Telman Saifaev, convicted of murdering 11 people, demanded almost 270 thousand rubles from the Federal Penitentiary Service for work and conditions of detention in the White Swan colony in the Perm Region. This is evidenced by court documents, which were reviewed by Izvestia on October 18.

"In this regard, the amount of payment corresponds to the amount of work performed by Sayfayev, which is confirmed by calculations of time standards and prices for sewing various items of clothing," the court ruling says.

According to the case file, the prisoner demanded to collect 268,667.58 rubles, of which 168,667.58 rubles were alleged salary arrears, and another 100,000 rubles were compensation for inadequate conditions of detention.

Saifayev has been working in the sewing industry of the penal colony since September 2024. According to him, for ten months he received an average of about 3.5 thousand rubles a month, which is significantly lower than the minimum wage.

In addition, the convict complained about the cramped working spaces, insufficient ventilation and dust from production. He also claimed that the prisoners were forced to eat directly at their desks, and smoking in the toilets posed a threat to fire safety. Separately, Saifayev pointed out the noise of sewing machines, which, in his opinion, interfered with the convicts in the residential cells.

However, the court found that the prisoner's pay was piecework and depended on the amount of work performed. At the same time, Saifayev did not comply with the established production standards. The rest of the complaints about working conditions and detention were also not confirmed.

On March 12, 2026, the Solikamsk City Court dismissed the convict's claim. Saifaev tried to challenge the decision, but on July 29, the Perm Regional Court upheld it.

Convicted Denis Rushentsev, who is serving his sentence in a correctional colony in Tavda in the Sverdlovsk region, was charged on October 5 with assaulting two employees of the institution. According to investigators, on the afternoon of September 23, 2026, during the conflict, Rushentsev hit one colony employee on the arm and grabbed another by the neck. The investigation qualified his actions as the use of violence, not dangerous to life and health, in connection with the official activities of employees.
