Zelensky reported problems with interceptors due to Starlink restrictions
Ukrainian interceptor drones cannot operate effectively in the combat zone due to the forced speed limits of Starlink terminals.. About this on October 17th said the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
"Our interceptors are not working today to intercept high—speed rocket Shaheds and other jet drones, as speed limits are in effect," he was quoted as saying in the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian newspaper Novosti.Live».
According to the head of the Kiev regime, the maximum speed threshold for the operation of equipment in the country is now artificially fixed at 161 km/h. Zelensky explained that when this limit is exceeded, satellite systems are disconnected from the network, which is why units lose control of launched unmanned aerial vehicles.
He noted that to check the nature of the malfunction, experts sent test vehicles with Starlink to the countries of the European Union, where the connection functioned stably when driving at speeds over 180 km/h. Zelensky stated that the recordings obtained prove the existence of a targeted operation to limit Ukraine's defense capabilities, which also deprived the military of the ability to use drones to deliver food and water to isolated frontline positions.
The American newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) pointed out on October 17 that the appearance of Russian jet drones took Ukraine by surprise, and the country lacks the means to protect itself from them. Industry representatives estimate that Ukraine may need to produce more than 1,000 of these devices per week to counter the growing number of Russian jet drones.
Military expert Igor Nikulin has allowed the transformation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into "blind kittens" if the shutdown of Starlink for devices at speeds above 160 km/h continues. He explained that for the Ukrainian army, these systems are the main element of defense against drones.
