A modern person hides in bed from external pressure and stress that cannot find a way out. This was stated by Anna Guseva, a psychologist and senior lecturer at the Department of Psychology at Synergy University, in an interview with Izvestia.

"In conditions of an oversaturation of information and visual noise, the brain gets tired, and the bed turns into the only secluded place where you can hide from the pressure. Lying aimlessly is an attempt to create a safe space, an island of control in a chaotic world," she explained.

Such a "behavioral shutdown," according to the expert, leads to a decrease in serotonin levels, increased anxiety and apathy. And the less a person moves, the more he wants to lie down.

"Physical activity heals, and the desire for silence and solitude should not be prolonged. If lying aimlessly becomes a habit, and a person stops going out using couriers and online services, life outside of a smartphone becomes indifferent to him, which is a serious signal for contacting specialists," the source said.
