Kosachev noted Trump's irritation with Zelensky's behavior
Relations between the presidents of the United States and Ukraine, Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky, continue to deteriorate due to Kiev's disregard for American initiatives to resolve the conflict. This was stated to Izvestia correspondent Igor Baldin on October 16 by Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council.
"It is obvious that Trump is annoyed by Zelensky's behavior and how Ukraine consistently ignores his efforts to somehow advance the settlement of the conflict," he said.
The senator stressed that this situation is unlikely to benefit Kiev. In addition, it hits the positions of the leader of the Kiev regime himself.
"It also affects his personal position as the overdue president of Ukraine, so we are in a very interesting period of development of this situation," Kosachev said.
The parliamentarian added that he would not associate what is happening solely with the midterm elections to the US Congress scheduled for November 3. According to the Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council, this situation will develop, and Ukraine's situation will continue to deteriorate beyond the horizon of the midterm elections.
On this day, Bloomberg reported that a number of leaders of the EU member states called on Zelensky to criticize the head of the White House less, since cooperation with his country is indispensable for Kiev. A day earlier, Lisa Haseldine, editor of The Spectator magazine, suggested that relations between Trump and Zelensky had "reached a low point" and might no longer be recoverable.
At the same time, the American leader himself said on October 10 that "it's time for Ukraine to elect a new president," since the head of the Kiev regime could have put an end to the conflict many times, but prefers not to do so.
