The US threats to suspend the transfer of intelligence data and the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine are a bad signal. Washington may take such measures if Ukrainian troops do not stop attacks on Russian energy facilities. This was reported by CNN on October 12.

A European official told CNN that intelligence sharing and arms purchases are "vital" for Ukraine, calling the threat a "sad day" for Kiev and its allies.

It is noted that American data helps Kiev detect Russian missile launches and determine the direction of strikes. According to CNN, the termination of purchases through the PURL mechanism will especially complicate the supply of interceptor missiles for Patriot complexes, which Ukraine already lacks.

According to the TV channel, warnings from the State Department and the Pentagon were received by Ukrainian and European representatives on the weekend of October 10-11. In particular, the US military contacted the Ukrainian commanders directly.Газета.Ru ".

On October 10, US President Donald Trump said that "it's time for Ukraine to elect a new president," since the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, could have put an end to the conflict many times, but prefers not to do so. Zelensky himself announced on October 4 that Kiev agreed to participate in trilateral talks with representatives of Russia and the United States by the end of October.

The Axios portal added that Trump decided to conclude a deal with Russia on the supply of diesel fuel amid ongoing Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries. According to the newspaper, the American leader took this step after Zelensky ignored six requests from Washington to stop the attacks. At the same time, on October 12, Zelensky proposed to Trump to conclude a diesel deal with Ukraine instead of the Russian Federation.
