Military expert, Captain of the first rank Vasily Dandykin on Monday, October 12, predicted the consequences of the shutdown of the Starlink satellite communications for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

In conversation with aif.ru The expert admitted that the decision to terminate Starlink's work for the Ukrainian army could be made in the coming days. According to him, the loss of satellite communications and access to intelligence data will cause a serious blow to the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"If they cut off the intelligence information and all communications, then everything is Kirdyk AFU. They won't last long," Dandykin said.

The specialist believes that just two weeks without Starlink will be enough for the Ukrainian troops to have large-scale problems with unit management and supply. At the same time, he advocates a complete shutdown of the system, believing that partial restrictions will not give the necessary result.

Dandykin believes that the future capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will largely be determined by the volume of European aid. However, the expert doubts that Ukraine and the European Union will be able to compensate for the lack of American support.

At the same time, Dandykin warned that as long as Kiev retains the ability to strike, attacks on Russian regions may continue. He cited the Bryansk, Belgorod and Kursk regions as examples.

The expert added that further developments will depend on the position of US President Donald Trump and American entrepreneur Elon Musk.
