Iran has threatened to destroy the US IT infrastructure in the region.
Iran will destroy US digital infrastructure facilities in the region, in particular cables and data centers, if Washington resumes military operations against Tehran. This was stated on October 11 by the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Mohsen Rezaei, on the Iranian Press TV channel.
"If the war resumes, cables, data centers, artificial intelligence infrastructure and other facilities in the region will be destroyed," Rezai said.
He noted that the United States has valuable assets in the UAE and the Strait of Hormuz, which are not yet included in the list of Iran's targets. According to him, the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq reflects Washington's inability to impose its military agenda on the region, which confirms Iran's resistance to the American military presence in Western Asia.
Rezaee also said that more than 30 million Iranians have signed up for the Janfada campaign ("Sacrifice for Iran") to take up arms in case of US aggression. Speaking about the prospects of ending the war, he said that Iran will continue to conduct diplomacy, but will not return to the previous negotiating framework.
"We will not return to the diplomatic approach of the past," Rezaei said, referring to the three rounds of talks that he said ended with the U.S. ending negotiations and attacking Iran.
He added that Iran has never abandoned diplomacy and will not abandon it, but has changed its approach. According to Rezai, Iran imposed seven conditions on Washington after contacts through Pakistan, Qatar and Iraq. The United States responded to the proposals by accepting some conditions and leaving others unclear.
The Office of Maritime Trade Operations of Great Britain reported on October 10 that an unknown shell hit the tanker, which was traveling through the Strait of Hormuz. It was clarified that a fire had occurred as a result of the incident.
