Pierre de Gaulle, grandson of former French President Charles de Gaulle, Deputy chairman of the Leo Tolstoy Peace Prize jury, admitted on October 11 that he dreams of visiting Siberia and Karelia with his family.

According to de Gaulle, he and his wife Rima also dream of visiting Kazan. The French public figure noted the special cultural attractiveness of this city.

"We would also like to visit the cities of Siberia. If possible, we can even get to Karelia," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The couple has already managed to get acquainted with Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. In addition, they plan to visit Vladivostok, but so far this trip has not been possible. De Gaulle admitted that, in his opinion, it may take a lifetime to get to know all Russian cities.

He also expressed his intention to show Russia to his children and bring them to the next International Youth Festival.

On September 28, Pierre de Gaulle announced his desire to obtain a Russian passport and drew attention to the fact that now the final decision on this issue rests with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also noted that he would like to move to Russia with his family and children in the future and continue working to develop ties between France and Russia.
