The Russian Foreign Ministry criticized the head of EU diplomacy, Kaya Kallas.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the fish starts to rot from the head, and in the case of the European Union (EU), this saying applies to the head of the European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas.
"Plutarch said: piscis primum a capite foetat — the fish starts to stink from the head. Nowadays, there is a continuation of this wisdom: and the EU is with Callas," she said in an interview with TASS.
On October 10, Kallas announced that the EU intends to adopt the largest package of sanctions against Russia since 2022. According to her, the decision on the new restrictions is planned to be approved at a meeting of EU foreign ministers on October 12.
The day before, US President Donald Trump announced that he had held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, it was agreed that Russia would supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the American and global markets.
