Axios: The United States threatened Kiev to stop transmitting intelligence due to strikes on refineries

U.S. officials have threatened Ukraine with stopping the transfer of intelligence information in the event of continued attacks on Russian refineries. This was reported on October 10 by the Axios portal with reference to a Ukrainian official.

The demand to stop attacks on energy facilities was voiced during a meeting of the delegations of the two countries in Miami. At the same time, the journalists clarify that a number of other sources deny making direct threats to the Ukrainian side.

According to Axios, US President Donald Trump does not consider the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks on Russian refineries to be an equivalent response to attacks on Ukraine's energy system. Journalists suggest that Kiev's repeated disregard of American requests could be the reason for the decision of the head of the White House to conclude a so-called diesel deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On October 9, Trump announced that he had had a telephone conversation with Putin. During the conversation, it was agreed that Russia would supply more than 300 thousand tons of diesel fuel to the American and global markets, another 500 thousand tons during November and 1 million tons immediately after that.

The next day, the head of the White House noted that Zelensky could have put an end to the conflict many times, but prefers not to do so. After criticizing the attacks on Russian refineries, Trump also advised Ukrainians to elect a new president who is ready to agree to a truce.
