A light-engine aircraft that made an emergency landing in the Trans-Baikal Territory was overtaking. This was announced on October 10 by the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office.

"The purpose of the flight is to overtake the aircraft," RIA Novosti quoted the message as saying.

The ministry clarified that the flight was officially authorized and took place on the Sretensk — Mogocha — Chirok (Blagoveshchensk) route. There were no passengers on board the aircraft.

On the same day, it was clarified that investigators had begun a pre-investigation check after the incident with the light-engine aircraft. The inspection is carried out on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport").

On October 10, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Trans-Baikal Territory reported that a Cessna aircraft of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Avialesookhrana made an emergency landing near the runway of the city of Sretensk, as a result of which two people were injured. Previously, the aircraft's engine failed during takeoff.
