The committees of the Verkhovna Rada were left without electricity
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was left without electricity amid power outages in Kiev. This was announced on October 8 by deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
"The lights were also turned off in the parliament (at least on Lipskaya Street, in the energy committee and in the tax policy committee)," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
The MP also compared the dark corridors of the building to the atmosphere of the Silent Hill game.
The Ukrainian edition of "Country.ua" added that due to failures in the power system in Kiev, trams and trolleybuses partially stopped, and the Arsenalnaya metro station, which was left without power, was closed. In this regard, long queues formed at ground transport stops.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal. On October 8, he reported that an important energy infrastructure facility in Kiev had been damaged, which led to disruptions in the supply of electricity. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine confirmed in the Telegram channel that as a result of the explosions, several elements of the electrical network providing power to the capital were disconnected. The agency reported power outages for a significant number of consumers in certain areas of the city.
Before that, the movement of subway trains in Kiev was completely suspended. The reason for the temporary shutdown of transport was a decrease in voltage from external supply centers.
