To stop attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Russian vessels, it is necessary to destroy the production of unmanned boats and strike Western weapons factories. This opinion was expressed to Izvestia on October 8 by State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev (the Rodina party).

"We need to tirelessly find and eliminate all bases of Ukrainian unmanned boats. But everyone understands that they are very conditionally Ukrainian, made in Canada or the UK. Therefore, in my opinion, there is the same question as drone raids on Russian territory — it is necessary to destroy the root cause, production," Zhuravlev said.

According to the deputy, it is necessary to cut off all delivery routes to destinations, primarily the ports of Greater Odessa. He noted that the Russian army is actually blocking them, but this is not enough, since unmanned boats continue to sink tankers with Russian oil.

Zhuravlev believes that appealing to the international community is useless, since NATO is also attacking the Russian civilian fleet. According to him, we need to be proactive and hit Western weapons factories.

The MP also expressed the opinion that US President Donald Trump is not protecting Russian oil, calling on Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to stop attacks on civilian vessels. According to Zhuravlev, "the angry shouts of the American president concern only the tankers of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium," a significant part of which belongs to American companies. He noted that Zelensky had sunk the ships of this consortium several times, which is why the American side expresses dissatisfaction with him across the ocean.

The MP stressed that Trump cares solely about the interests of the United States and does not want to admit that the shortage of petroleum products in the world has arisen mainly due to actions in the Middle East. According to the parliamentarian, "Russian diesel is not entering the market because the United States itself has imposed sanctions on it."

"The Ukrainian attacks on tankers are a drop in the ocean, but this, of course, would like to avoid. And for this, it is necessary to destroy all the places where these unmanned boats are produced, even if the factories are located mainly in Europe," Zhuravlev concluded.

Military expert, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk said on September 21 that Russia had completely deprived Ukraine of the opportunity to receive cargo from the Black Sea.According to him, the ships heading to Odessa are not carrying humanitarian aid, but military cargo, and Russian troops destroy them on their approach to the port, as well as strike at the port infrastructure, which should not accept these cargoes.
