A resident of Kuban was detained for attempted participation in a terrorist organization.

A resident of the Beloglinsky district of the Krasnodar Territory was detained on suspicion of attempted participation in the activities of an organization recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. This was reported on October 7 by the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory.

"The Federal Security Service of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory has suppressed the illegal activities of a Russian citizen, born in 1992, involved in the activities of a terrorist organization banned in Russia," the report says.

According to the agency, the man independently contacted representatives of the pro-Ukrainian organization via messenger. On the instructions of the curator, he was supposed to provide information support for her activities and spread ideology among residents of the Krasnodar Territory.

For this purpose, the detainee prepared several anti-Russian materials and sent them to representatives of the Ukrainian side. The investigative Department of the FSB opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization"). The maximum penalty under the article is up to 20 years in prison.
