The Houthis have declared control over two districts of the province of Taiz in southwestern Yemen, including the territory where the head of the country's governing presidential council, Rishad al-Alimi, previously lived. This was reported on October 5 by Al-Masirah TV channel, citing sources.

"The Yemeni army has reached the house of Rishad al-Alimi," a senior military source in Sanaa said.

The sources also announced the liberation of more than 2 thousand square kilometers of the territory of the province of Taiz. At the same time, they declared the preservation of stability in the occupied areas and warned that concentrations of enemy forces could become targets for strikes.

Yahya Saria, a representative of the Houthi Armed Forces, said on the same day that the Houthis had attacked targets in Saudi Arabia, including the King Khalid Airport in Riyadh and the Aramco oil refinery. In addition, according to the Houthis, the Abha airport, the Khamis Mushayt airbase, as well as a number of facilities in the Najran and Jizan districts were attacked.
