The number of victims of a fire at the production of firecrackers in the Yaroslavl region has reached 14

The death toll from a fire at a pyrotechnics factory in the Yaroslavl region has reached 14 people. This was announced on September 28 by the press service of Governor Mikhail Evrayev.

In addition, one person was injured in the fire.

Nine people were injured in the fire.

The fire occurred earlier that day in Kubrinsk, Yaroslavl region. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, two buildings caught fire in the firecracker production area. More than 100 people and 40 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. The Governor of the Yaroslavl Region, Mikhail Evraev, announced the creation of an operational headquarters, and a decision is being prepared to declare an emergency regime. He noted that children and teachers from social institutions nearby were evacuated.

"The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Yaroslavl region has opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence").
