Saudi Arabia launches exports via the "East–West" oil pipeline

Saudi Arabia has restored exports via the "East–West" oil pipeline. This was reported on September 28 by Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the situation.

"Saudi Arabia has resumed oil exports through a key multinational pipeline after its connection was restored following drone strikes earlier this month," the publication said.

According to the agency, the resumption of oil supplies will restore Saudi Arabia's access to the "alternative export route" that it used during the war with Iran.

Bloomberg reported on September 22 that Saudi Arabia was conducting test launches of the "East—West" oil pipeline, which was damaged on September 10. According to the agency's interlocutor, the events were held to prepare for the launch of the pipeline.

The "East—West" oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia was shut down on September 11. The reason for the suspension of work was precautionary measures after a series of attacks. The world's largest oil exporter redirected about 4 million barrels per day through this artery to the Yanbu port on the Red Sea. This volume accounts for approximately 4% of global shipments.
