An Orthodox person should not be afraid of the influence of witches if he lives a church life and retains his faith. Priest Alexander Ermolin told the magazine "Thomas" about this.

"The influence of sorcerers is not terrible for an Orthodox person. <...> Nowhere in Scripture does it say that there are any criteria or factors. Christ calls only to believe," the priest noted.

According to him, in the Orthodox understanding, human protection does not depend on any special conditions or charms. He called faith, prayer, church visits and participation in church sacraments the basis of spiritual life.

Ermolin also stressed that Orthodoxy lacks the teaching of the so-called sins of the family. According to him, a person is responsible for his own actions, and believers can help deceased relatives through prayer.

""The priest separately warned against using various amulets, including the "red thread" and the "eye of Fatima," as such practices are incompatible with the Orthodox faith.

He added that the so-called pads are also not capable of harming a believer. Ermolin named confession, communion, prayer and fasting as the main means of spiritual support.

Earlier, Priest Yevgeny Chebykin said that it is better to refrain from the cosplay of clergy and the thoughtless reproduction of church services, since such actions may indicate a disdainful attitude towards the service. The priest explained that worship should be taken seriously. If a person really wants to participate in a church service, he can perform it as a layman or receive appropriate training for taking holy orders.
