In the Brazilian city of Campo Grande, a 55-year-old referee pulled out a pistol during a futsal match among boys under 12 years old. This was announced on September 26 by the Globo TV channel.

The incident occurred at the ABC College gym during a futsal tournament. The referee is a military police officer in the reserve and is not a member of the refereeing staff of the Futsal Federation of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul.

The publication reported that a conflict involving the judges began near the entrance to the hall. At some point, the referee ran to the other side of the court, and then returned with a weapon in his hand. He was stopped by people nearby.

According to a representative of one of the teams and a witness who contacted the police, the conflict began after the audience began to criticize the refereeing due to the penalty.

"There were no personal insults against the referee," the women told the police.

According to their version, the referee responded by insulting the children's parents, offering them a fight and gesturing with his fists. Then he pulled out a gun next to the minors.

"One of the parents managed to hold him down, and many people left the hall, fearing that shots might be fired," the eyewitness statement says.

At the same time, the version of the military police differs from the testimony of eyewitnesses. The agency claims that during the conflict, the arbitrator was racially insulted, and he took out a weapon after one of the parents allegedly threatened to take out a pistol as well.
