The October premieres will delight fans of fiction. The domestic "Noon" based on the prose of the Strugatsky brothers starts on the KION channel. In addition, "Vision's Quest," another Marvel universe production, and the series "Carrie," based on the Stephen King novel, are airing. The latter, which was highly praised by the writer himself, promises to be an event, as well as "East of Paradise" based on the novel by John Steinbeck, directed by Zoey Kazan, the granddaughter of Elia Kazan, the creator of the 1955 film adaptation. In the distant and happy future, earthlings not only study other planets, but also contribute to their scientific, technical and social development through the hands of progressors - subtle specialists in other people's affairs. One of the experienced agents, Maxim Kammerer, is assigned the task of finding his colleague Lev Abalkin, who, having failed to complete the work on the planet entrusted to his care, for some reason went back to Earth. Having discovered Abalkin and watching him, Kammerer gradually realizes that he has become a traitor and now the Earth is in danger of destruction ...
It seems that the Strugatskys are on trend now: the first season of the series "It's Hard to be a God" started less than a month ago. But if its creators are honestly trying to transfer the literary foundation to the screen, then the new TV show raises questions. The authors of the series in the trailer refuse to refer to a specific novel as a source of inspiration, designating their brainchild as filmed "based on the prose of the Strugatsky brothers."
But this explanation, alas, does not work, because they have changed the spirit of the works a little more than completely. The aura of modern times is taken for the most part not from the romantic descriptions of the Strugatskys, but from computer games where alien characters instantly grow fangs and claws on any part of the body. The progressive Kammerer, performed by the subtle and unusual actor Yuri Kolokolnikov, looks most like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role of policeman Ivan Danko, who breaks off the suspect's leg with an indifferent face. In general, progressors here are not prone to complex psychological maneuvers, preferring the smooth and powerful trunks of the future.
As a result, the communist utopia of the Sixties writers turned into war communism, where the one with the bigger revolver is right. There are no progressors on them.

One of the most famous novels by Nobel laureate John Steinbeck, East of Paradise, was first adapted into a film in 1955. Elia Kazan's film of the same name, starring the magnetic James Dean as Cal, won an Oscar and a Golden Globe and was ranked among the 100 best films of all time by the American Film Academy. Even at that time, TV channels dreamed of a television series based on a hot script, but a full-fledged project was never released. Finally, seven decades later, it happened, and not without symbolism: Zoey Kazan, the granddaughter of the famous director, took over the production of the show. Of course, the typical zoomer Joseph Zadeh is far from Dean, but it shouldn't be a farce: decent cast, beautiful shots, costumes and historical surroundings, worked out in great detail, and professional work.

The London legal world does not forgive weaknesses. The scandalous divorce of billionaire Morgan Henderson, the owner of a large corporation, and movie star Carla Duvall turns into a merciless war between two large law firms. Long-time competitors representing the interests of opposing sides are determined to get their way, once and for all establishing their advantage over eternal rivals. Any methods are used, including those that are not too respected by the law, which lawyers are called upon to protect. And the more the flywheel of an unsightly trial unwinds, the more its result threatens to damage the image of everyone involved in the process...
A typical legal procedural series about specialists in a particular field was shot according to all the canons of the genre by the same strong professionals: Ben Taylor ("The Year of the Rabbit", "Catastrophe"), China Moo—yeon ("Courtesans") and Jennifer Sheridan ("Rules of the Game") acted as directors, and the main roles were played by The Wiretapping star Dominic West and multiple BAFTA Award nominee Sienna Miller. Fans of legal dramas will get sincere pleasure.

One of Stephen King's most popular novels was adapted into a film by Brian de Palma in 1976. This tape is still considered canonical and almost flawless, but the new series has every chance to match it, and possibly surpass it. The new film is directed by horror king Michael Flannagan ("The Ghost of the House on the Hill", "The Fall of the House of Usher"), who is relaunching the cult franchise "The Exorcist" next year.
Summer H. Howell as Carrie is an absolute hit: although her doll—like appearance does not fit in with the plump and scary high school student from the novel, the actress, who has already made horror films her role, is not afraid to look ugly in the frame, which successfully removes the problem. Finally, Stephen King himself has already called the work brilliant, separately dwelling on how harmoniously the director integrated modern realities into the plot, primarily bullying on social networks. The recommendation of the master is worth listening to.

Everyone considered him dead after the final battle of the Avengers with the villain Thanos. However, the Scarlet Witch, having discovered his remains, finds out that her former lover can still be brought back to life. But when Vision regains consciousness, it turns out that his memory has been seriously damaged. At first, he knows nothing about recent events, then the memories begin to return, but they remain mosaic and unrelated to his own feelings and thoughts. Vision has to go in search of himself...
For the big ones and for television screens, the regular return of the heroes of the Marvel universe has already become familiar: the popularity of the franchise will not support itself, and its population is large enough, so the memory of individual heroes is supported by regular infusions of information so that the inhabitants of the universe do not merge into a continuous faceless mass in the eyes of the audience.
Now it's the turn of the Vision story: the TV series "Wanda/Vision was a success five years ago (rating on Rotten Tomato — 88%, on Kinopoisk — 7.4), and even then it was clear that a sequel would follow. The effects are built into the video tightly, but without overkill, and without trying to replace the plot. The dialogues are also worthy: just the phrase "there is nothing better for family cohesion than mortal danger" deserves to be recorded in the annals.

The theme of the comedic sports drama — the miraculous rescue of a small-town hockey team, which, according to all sports and economic logic, was supposed to fall honorably in an unsuccessful battle for professional and financial efficiency — looks naive, but that's why it will certainly find a response in the audience's souls. Many veterans still remember how they used to cheer for their fellow countrymen as boys, and some of the young people still know the names of their city's athletes. It's not always easy for them, and the closure of teams due to the fact that former sponsors simply did not have the money to support them is still a memorable story in some places. In such situations, the national soul urgently demands a miracle. And this miracle is presented to them from the screen — and even performed by luminaries, heroes of yesterday and today — Nikolai Fomenko, Grigory Vernik, Svetlana Nemolyaeva and Internet star Anton Lapenko, who finally seems to have a chance at a positive role.
